Adolph Bandelier was a prominent archaeologist in the Southwest and Latin America. His second wife Fanny Ritter Bandelier was intimately involved with his professional career, most often as a translator. The Bandeliers' were in Spain, locating and translating Spanish documents pertaining to the Southwest, at the time of Adolph's death in 1914.
